Privacy Policy for GameReels

GameReels ("the App", "we", "us") is a mobile app that lets you swipe through and play short mini-games, and optionally upload your own games for others to play. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By using GameReels, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Information We Collect

Account information	Name, email address, and profile photo	Only if you choose to sign in with Google. If you don't sign in, the App generates a random anonymous device ID so your scores and likes can still be saved.
User-generated content	Game files, thumbnails, titles, descriptions, and captions you submit	When you use the "Upload a Game" feature. Uploaded content is reviewed before it appears publicly and is shown together with your name and profile photo.
Gameplay & usage data	Scores, likes, plays, leaderboard entries, and general app-usage events	Automatically as you play games and interact with the feed.
Advertising data	Advertising identifiers, approximate location, and ad-interaction data, collected by Google AdMob	While ads are shown in the App. Where required (e.g. EEA, UK), we ask for your consent first via Google's User Messaging Platform.
Device & diagnostic data	Device model, OS version, crash logs, and basic performance data	Automatically, to keep the App stable and working correctly.

2. How We Use Your Information

To operate core features: the game feed, scores, leaderboards, likes, and uploads.
To attribute uploaded games to their author and let players see who made a game.
To review submitted games for quality and policy compliance before publishing.
To show ads that help keep the App free, and to measure ad performance.
To detect, prevent, and address technical issues, abuse, or fraud.
To communicate with you about your account or submissions, if needed.

3. Third-Party Services

We rely on the following third-party services to operate the App. Each has its own privacy policy governing how it handles data:

Convex — our backend database and authentication provider, used to store accounts, scores, likes, and game metadata. (privacy policy)
Google Sign-In — used for optional account authentication. (privacy policy)
Cloudflare — used to host and deliver uploaded game files and thumbnail images. (privacy policy)
Google AdMob — used to display banner, interstitial, rewarded, and native ads, and may use advertising identifiers to personalize ads (with your consent where required). (how Google uses ad data)

4. User-Generated Content

GameReels allows users to upload their own playable mini-games. Please note:

Every upload is reviewed by a moderator before it becomes visible to other users.
Uploaded games run inside a sandboxed in-app player and cannot access your personal device data.
You can delete your own uploaded games at any time from your Profile.
We may remove any uploaded content that violates our content guidelines, and may include a note explaining why.
Do not upload content that infringes on others' rights, contains malicious code, or is otherwise unlawful.

5. Advertising & Consent

GameReels shows ads through Google AdMob to support free access to the App. Where legally required (such as for users in the EEA and UK), we present a consent flow before any personalized advertising data is collected, in line with Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) and applicable regulations (e.g. GDPR). You can decline personalized ads and still use the App; you may see non-personalized ads instead.

GameReels is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and ads shown in the App are configured for a general (not child-directed) audience.

6. Data Retention

We retain account information, scores, likes, and uploaded content for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App's features. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 8).

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures — including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and access controls on our backend and storage providers — to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Choices & Rights

You can use GameReels anonymously without signing in; scores are then tied to a random device ID instead of a personal account.
You can sign out at any time from your Profile.
You can delete your own uploaded games at any time from your Profile.
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us at the email below.
Depending on your region, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, including the right to data portability and the right to object to certain processing.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
